[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for my mother for Christmas. Perfect as she needed a cd player and has old cassettes she has not been able to play in years. Just needed better labels for controls. I was able to cut out labels from the instruction sheet and tape them on for her. Would recommend adding a sticker people could put on if they want to. Now perfect for an older lady to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have worn hearing aids since I was a child because I am legally deaf. Now I am also legally blind. So it has been a challenge to find a unit that has high quality sound and also ease of use. My wife saw this advertised and ordered it for me. I am SO happy with it! The sound and volume are great, and it is even user friendly. It arrived quickly and was a great price considering the high quality! I am considering buying another one in case they stop making this model.
it is a pretty decent little boom box perfect for the space I have for it. not sure if its my brick house with a metal roof, but the antenna is a little touchy from time to time to get my FM radio stations
Old technology, overpriced but I guess it is what it is. The sad thing is that it skips pretty easily, so its old technology of the lower end sort. I had a skip-proof portable cd player 15 years ago. I dont think a better basic CD player is available, so it works.
I purchased this boombox based on generally positive reviews. However, this boombox was defective OUT OF THE BOX. The CD player, which is the primary reason that I bought this boombox, simply would not play. The CD wouldn't even move after I selected the CD Mode setting and pressed the PLAY button. I called the GPX Customer Service Department (which is open on Saturdays) and the woman who assisted me asked me a few questions and then she asked me to unplug the boombox from the power source, hold down the CD PLAY button until she told me to stop, and then try to play the CD again. This absolutely did not work, and I was extremely frustrated. No boombox that is well reviewed should be defective out of the box. It gives me a strong impression the GPX does not have a quality control system that checks its boomboxes for such defects before they are shipped out to customers. Also, ONE more thing: when the GPX customer service representative told me to contact Walmart in order to exchange the item, I told her that I refused to exchange it, since there was no guarantee that I wouldn't receive yet ANOTHER defective GPX boombox. When I told the representative that I also intended to review this item on the Walmart website and explain my frustration about a defective boombox being delivered to me (that I would now have to spend time on preparing a return in order to receive a refund), she HUNG UP on me. If I could give a NO-STAR review, I would.
